Tell us about Dill and Alexander! I kinda picture them in my head as Kermit and that blue eagle Muppet but gay and gamer/greasy mechanic. Is that where you got the idea? Is sburb's frog fascination gonna play into the story of these boyos?
oh what's that? you want to be the captive audience for a lore dump about my very special guys? completely unprompted and with total investment in everything i might have to say? well well, don't mind if i do!
SO, Dill Croaker and Alexander Falcon are members of a now-defunct group called The Falconers. they are modeled after Star Fox (the team) from Star Fox (the video games). we haven't seen Alex on screen yet, but here's @girlpillz's rendering of Dill for B1 verse 1, where Lenore Lehart shows off her sick bouncy ball skills for Dana Straten to get the attention of Dill.
Tumblr media
Alex being a blue falcon, i imagine he looks legally distinct from Falco Lombardi from Star Fox (the video games; the team) albeit less cocky and attitudinous.
there are technical reasons for The Falconers' existence. going into 3.2B, i knew i wanted a secondary supporting cast in the margins capable of handling dirtywork off-screen. for instance, they're decrypting and analyzing Lenore's stolen witch data so the main cast doesn't have to worry about it, leaving us more time to luxuriate in what we're actually here for: feelings.
Star Fox 64 is my favorite game, so when it came time to come up with that supporting cast, the possibilities of a knockoff Star Fox team immediately sold me on the idea (especially since this is the only story where i will ever reasonably be able to get away with such a blatant act of self-indulgence. you wouldn't believe it from looking, but i don't actually do a lot of indulging myself with Godfeels. i try very hard to never throw things in without serious calculation. The Falconers are pretty much the only thing i've introduced that came as an inorganic external mandate of my own selfish making, and even then i've worked very hard to integrate them naturally). as a broken up four-person crew, they mirror the Upsilons-- and so, them helping the Falconers reunite in order to find Alphi and Edie gives these guys some juice. their backstory is a shadow of the Upsilons', and a useful point of comparison as the narrative plugs along. i could've made a girl Star Fox team, but frankly Godfeels is just so women-centered, so female-focused, so tgirl-transfixed that i figured it was about time to throw the boylikers a bone.
The Falconers are balanced as a calculated twist on the Star Fox team. the most immediate difference is that here, Alexander Falcon fills the role of Fox McCloud. he's the charismatic team leader, a little surly (especially these days) but good at his job and deeply committed to the care of his team. Dill Croaker is, obviously, only about five runs through the dryer away from Slippy Toad, and fills the same role. my reason for this is that everyone is mean to Slippy and they're wrong. Slippy is a brilliant engineer and programmer, why do you expect him to be an ace fighter pilot too? that's YOUR job, hotshot! Nintendo themselves have been all over the map with Slippy in terms of characterization, pretty much never getting him quite as right as he felt in 64. so, yeah, Dill is my take on Slippy: a clueless gamer frog who plays with a lot of edgelords but is himself impervious to their venom. he never cusses because he's a good boy, and he respects women.
Dill and Alex have lived together on Crime Planet for a long time. are they fucking? no, i don't believe they are. Dill strikes me as something of an ace king, and anyway i don't think he's Alex's type. mostly they work together in the shop and hang out doing bro stuff. maybe Alex lifts weights while Dill plays shitty space MOBAs. but all this begs the question: who is Alex's type?
as of the B1 solo we've learned a little bit about the other two Falconers. first there is Erol [last name unknown], the oldest member of the crew who's likely analogous to Peppy Hare. which leaves us with Yolo Sionnach. a lot of information can be implied about him from this exchange:
Tumblr media
yes, a lot of information indeed. but as much as i would love to enumerate the implications, i must hold my tongue. i mean, i would type it all out, but i can't, because i'm literally using my fingers to hold my tongue in place so that i can't say the spoilers out loud
anyway, i like the muppet comparison. that wasn't what i had in mind at all, but now i'm imagining the Falconers as the puppets Nintendo used to advertise Star Fox Zero and........ ohhhh scope creep you saucy temptress
youtube
the Slippy slander is rampant! and that's to say nothing of the ad where muppet versions of Satoru Iwata, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Reggie Fils-Aime slowly transform into Peppy, Fox, and Falco respectively.
i can't say that Sburb/the Universe Engine have much to do with The Falconers' story. they're not godtier, they don't know anything about the UE, they are literally just space mercenary furries. they come from the Lemurian Star System, trained at the Academy on Lemuria, and worked in the Lemurian Sky Corps until starting their own independent outfit as contractors (which i imagine is a fairly common career path in a region racked by interplanetary war and rampant espionage). age-wise, they're in their mid 30s.
thank you for this wonderful question. no one ever asks about the other guys, and i am always dying to talk about the other guys.

Shopping Trip (Lego Monkie Kid fanfic)
Summary: The majority of the gang goes shopping. Then Wukong and Macaque play video games.
Warnings: Brief threats, Wukong and Macaque have issues to work through (they're also very dumb about the fact they love each other), swearing
Word count: 6,072
Author's notes: This would NOT leave me alone so here fandom, take the gays residing in my brain for the last two days. Sandy isn't here because I had no idea what he'd be doing. This is 90% indulgent Shadowpeach content for myself but hey, that's something. This is set post Emperor's Wrath. Enjoy.
“Hey, Monkey King, why d'you always wear your fancy robes?” MK questioned after the three of them took a break from training.
Macaque stifled a laugh, looking over at Wukong and revelling in the confusion on his face.
“What do you mean?” Wukong asked around a mouthful of peach flavoured crisps, crunching noisily on them.
MK shrugged and gestured. “You and Macaque always wear your fancy clothes whenever you come and just hang out with us, you can't be comfortable in it.”
“Look, kid, I hate to break it to you but we don't actually own any other clothes,” Macaque replied.
“I can make some though!” Wukong exclaimed, one hand already reaching to yank hair out of his head.
MK and Macaque rushed to stop him, the former tackling his hand still holding the bag of crisps, while the latter reached through a shadow portal to grab his wrist.
“Quit it Wukong, you already eat enough of your hair as it is, no point in you wearing it as well,” Macaque said with an eye roll.
MK’s eyes went round as saucers. “Please tell me that those crisps aren't hair.”
Wukong averted his gaze with a nervous laugh. “Whaaaaat? No, pfft, I'm not that- er-”
“Monkey King! You promised to start eating proper food!” MK whined, poking him in the cheek.
Wukong sighed. “Yeah yeah, I am, kid, I promise, now can I have my arms back?”
Macaque glared at him over MK's head, getting a returning glare.
MK gasped and jumped up, waving his arms wildly. “Oh my gosh, I know just what we should do?”
“Yuh-huh and what's that?” Wukong asked.
“Mei keeps telling me about this super cool new shopping centre that opened up the other week!” MK explained. “What if we all had a day out there and you guys can pick out some comfy clothes for hanging out with us?!”
Macaque shook his head. “Look, kid, I appreciate it but-”
He went silent as something yanked his tail, head whipping around to catch another tail quickly retreating to Wukong's side.
Oh that little-
“It's an amazing idea!” Wukong replied with a grin. “Let us know when you want to do it and we'll be there.”
“Funny how you now speak for both of us,” Macaque muttered, opening up a shadow portal beside him and reaching through to yank Wukong's tail.
The king turned to glare at the warrior, Macaque shooting him a shit-eating grin in return.
“Okay! I'm gonna go, I'm working this evening but I'll see you guys for training again tomorrow!” MK said before beginning to run back down the mountain. “Thanks again for the training!”
A beat went by before the two of them turned to each other.
“You know you could be more supportive of the kid,” Wukong snapped.
“Me? Really? Last I checked you were the one who abandoned his training!” Macaque argued, standing up. “Because that's what you always do isn't it? The great Sun-Wukong who always puts himself first.”
Wukong's jaw clenched, tail lashing behind him, and for a moment it seemed like they were going to fight again.
Then the king's shoulders heaved and his posture slouched. “Can we not do this right now?”
Macaque rolled his shoulders, the joints clicking slightly. “Running off again?”
“Can you stop?!” Wukong shouted. “I don't know what you want from me but you're not gonna get a rise. I'm done with this - with you always trying to bait me into another fight. I have people to look out for now.”
Macaque scoffed. “You can't tell me you actually care about the kid.”
“Bold words from someone who also cares about him,” Wukong retorted and Macaque's fur bristled. “Oh yeah, don't think I haven't noticed. While I was off doing very important things, you kept showing back up. Some part of you does actually care about MK, be honest.”
“Nope, doesn't sound like me,” Macaque stated, tail tapping against the ground twice as he opened up a shadow portal. “See you around, Monkey King.”
Wukong dashed forward, one arm outstretched. “No, wait, Macaque-”
The darkness surrounding him.
Silence.
Well, it wasn't quite silent, it sounded like everything was muffled and underwater.
Macaque took a deep breath, artificial air expanding his lungs.
Wukong was still there although it was like seeing him through murky glass, thumping a fist against the shadows on the ground before giving up and walking away.
Macaque floated in the inky expanse, debating on whether or not to return to his dojo before deciding that he would just stay here for now.
It was peaceful.
It was everything that outside wasn't.
~•~
“Hey boi!” Mei cheered, tackling MK into a hug before waving at Wukong. “Heya Monkey King!”
“Hey,” Wukong waved, pulling his loaned hoodie further over his head. “Hey bud, you sure that no one's gonna recognise me in this?”
“I dunno honestly but if not you can transform, right?” MK argued.
“Fair point.”
“I still do not understand why I have to be here,” Red Son complained, foot tapping impatiently. “If we are all here then can we go already?”
“No, sorry, we're still waiting on someone else,” Tang answered.
“Who else are we waiting for?” Wukong questioned. “The pig guy?”
Tang adjusted his scarf. “Oh no, Pigsy is at that food stall over there shouting at the chef because he sold us half baked churros while we were waiting.” He paused. “Speaking of, I'm going to go stop Pigsy before he ends up in too much trouble.”
“Literally who else would MK invite?” Wukong's eyes narrowed in confusion. “I don't even understand why Red Son is here.”
“Hey!”
“I swear if you invited Nezha then this is going to be the most boring shopping trip ever.”
“Ugh, I wish he'd invited Nezha, then I'd have someone else to make fun of you with.”
Wukong spun around with a curse, glaring at their final arrival, who hadn't even bothered with a disguise.
“Great, just great.”
Macaque shrugged. “Hey, I don't want to be here any more than you want me to be here. Only reason I'm tagging along is that I was planning to grab some food anyway.”
“But we're meant to be clothes shopping,” Mei interrupted, eyes watery as she stared up at the warrior.
“Yeah Macaque, you promised,” MK added, also staring up with large eyes.
“Look kid I didn't-” The warrior paused and sighed. “Fine, I'll buy some clothes. But I'm picking what I get, not you guys.”
The two of them let out a cheer and rushed back over to Red Son, beginning to drag him in the direction of a shop.
“I cannot believe that I'm gonna have to put up with you today,” Wukong groaned as the two of them set off after the trio.
“Hey, you're the one who volunteered me for this so if there's anyone to blame it's yourself,” Macaque responded.
Mei and MK had seemed to immediately start piling clothes into their arms, occasionally thrusting some pieces into Red Son's arms.
Wukong stumbled backwards slightly when MK seemed to just appear in front of him, holding up two pairs of pyjamas. “Hey Monkey King! Should we get these matching Monkey King™ pyjamas?”
“Hey kiddo, I'm wearing a disguise for a reason so maybe keep your voice down,” Wukong chuckled. “But yeah, absolutely.”
The king turned to glare at Macaque when the warrior snickered.
“Something funny?”
“No, it's nothing,” Macaque lied, one hand coming up to try and cover the smile on his face.
Wukong let out a loud, over-dramatic gasp. “Are you making fun of my bond with my apprentice? Are you making fun of our super duper cool friendship?”
“No,” Macaque sputtered, trying to get his laughter under control.
Wukong leaned in, poking him in the face. “You are! How could you?”
Macaque stopped trying to contain his laughter at the theatrics, golden eyes screwing up tight as he nearly doubled over.
Wukong's smile wavered as his gaze flitted across the warrior's face.
He knew realistically why Macaque would cover up his eye.
Seeing his unmarred face and having these moments made it almost seem like nothing had ever gone wrong between them.
When Macaque straightened up again he shot Wukong a quick glance, accompanied with a shy smile before returning his attention to the shop in front of them. “C'mon then, no point standing around all day. Gotta find you something to wear other than pyjamas.”
“Yeah and we've gotta find you anything to wear,” Wukong teased. “What do you even wear? Like, leather jacket and grunge aesthetic boots.”
“How the fuck do you know what an aesthetic is?” Macaque swore, turning back to face him.
The king shrugged nonchalantly and grinned. “What can I say, I guess I'm just cool like the kids are.”
The warrior snorted. “Yeah right, the day that you're cool is the day I haven't died before.”
A silence fell between them at that comment and something flickered over Macaque's features.
Wukong reached out to him before the shadow slipped away from him, walking over to a rack of darkly coloured clothes.
There was so much they still needed to talk about.
Macaque flicked through the different hanging articles before smirking. “So, what about the fact that Red Son has a crush on either MK or Mei?”
“Wait, what?” Wukong spluttered.
“When the three of them were together back there, Red Son was blushing and stuff. Can't tell which of them is making him fall for them but I'm not actually that surprised.”
Wukong stood stock still for a moment, doing a mental reboot while Macaque moved on.
“Wait, no, hold on you little shit, are you for real?” Wukong questioned.
Macaque nodded. “When we catch up to them, just watch. I wouldn't lie, would I?”
“I dunno, seems like you lie a lot.” Wukong narrowed his eyes dubiously.
“Well, I'm not lying about that.”
They wandered for a little longer before managing to catch up with the trio.
Okay, Wukong had to hand it to Macaque, Red Son did seem to be blushing.
“Hey, Monkey King, you made it! We lost you back there!” MK cheered before turning back to Mei. “Ooh, Mei, do you still have the thing we picked out for Macaque?”
“Kid I don't-”
“Found it!” Mei announced, holding up the black mesh shirt.
Macaque's gaze dragged over it before extending a hand. “Okay, I'll try it on.”
Wukong did a double take. “You like mesh?”
“Haven't tried it before but it looks cool enough. If I can get something to go over it then I'd probably like it.”
Red Son held up a black sleeveless turtleneck shirt from the pile in his arms. “Something like this?”
Macaque shifted the first shirt in his grip before reaching out for the other. “Sounds good.”
“Oh and there are some dark coloured jeans by the changing rooms, wanna grab a pair of those?” MK offered.
“Mhm.”
Wukong trailed behind the bunch of them, briefly wondering where Tang and Pigsy had gotten to.
Him and MK plopped down onto a bench just outside the changing rooms, MK's stack of clothes beside him.
“I'm gonna try them on after the others have tried theirs,” MK explained. “Wait a minute, why don't you have anything Monkey King?”
“Um, well, I just didn't see anything I liked all that much, bud,” Wukong lied.
“Oh okay.”
The boy got out his phone, playing some obnoxiously loud game while they waited for the others to get changed.
“Okay, we're done!” Mei called after a while.
“Come out then!” MK shouted back, shutting his phone off and putting it back in his pocket.
“Macaque, you coming?”
“Nope.”
“Aw, come on, pretty please? You look great!”
“...Fine.”
Mei stepped out, practically dragging Red Son and Macaque with her.
And wow, Macaque actually looked kind of good.
The clothes actually suited him.
The warrior wrenched Mei's iron grip off his arm before grumpily crossing his arms over his chest.
“Woah, you guys look awesome!” MK gasped, clapping his hands together.
Macaque rolled his eyes and frowned when he looked over at Wukong. “Quit staring, Wukong, don't you know it's impolite?”
Wukong smirked. “Thought you said I was impolite.”
“Yeah, I know that you are. Doesn't mean you have to give me more reasons for it,” the warrior complained before looking over at Mei. “Hey, can we wrap this up and buy this stuff already?”
“Nu-uh, we've still got loads of outfits to try on! You and Monkey King can wait here while we finish checking all these sick clothes out,” Mei replied.
Macaque grumbled something under his breath before going back to the changing room.
Three pairs of eyes turned to Wukong. “He's just always kinda cranky, trust me.”
“I heard that!”
~•~
“Ugh, how much sugar did you even put in that thing?” Macaque asked, nose wrinkling with disgust at the sweet scent coming off of Wukong's drink.
Wukong moved the glass away from his face, a bit of cream smeared on his nose. “Um, I dunno. It has chocolate, ice cream, sprinkles, some more chocolate, some normal cream, some kinda sweet milk, caramel-”
Macaque reached out and grabbed the drink out of his hand while he was distracted listing ingredients, holding it out of his reach. “You are going to clog an artery if you have that much sugar.”
Wukong pouted. “Macaque! Gimme back my drink!”
Macaque opened up a shadow portal under his hand, hovering the drink just above it. “You aren't going to have all of it to yourself or you will die.”
“I'm immortal, I can't die,” Wukong retorted.
Oh yeah.
“You aren't going to have it all to yourself or I'll steal all the wine you're hiding at your place.”
Wukong's eyes went wide and he leaned across Macaque, desperately attempting to grab it. “No! No! Fine, I'll share! Just gimme the drink!”
Macaque dropped the drink through the shadow portal, watching as Wukong's face fell.
As the king turned back to the table the warrior opened a portal again, depositing the drink - now with two straws - back in front of him.
“Come on, if you're going to clog an artery then I might as well do it with you.”
Wukong shot him a quick glare but moved the glass so it was between them.
Red Son slid back into their booth. “They're still ordering but wanted me to say they'll be back soon.”
Macaque glanced over to the counter where Mei and MK seemed to be arguing over the menu of sweet treats.
“May I ask a question?” Red Son asked.
“You just did,” Wukong teased.
The boy rolled his eyes. “May I ask another question after the one I am asking at this moment?”
“Mmmmkay.”
Macaque lowered his head to take a sip of the drink, throat burning at how sickly sweet it was.
He'd never understand how Wukong could stomach these things.
“Are you two in a relationship?”
Macaque choked on his drink and Wukong hit him on the back a few times while replying.
“No, never! Me? With him? Tch, as if! He's so- him! And I'm so me!” The king answered.
Macaque gulped in a lungful of air after recovering. “This is the one time we agree on something and it's that we are not a thing. I hate him, he makes me feel like my skin is on the outside and my fur is on the inside. I'd rather have my heart served up on a platter to the Lady Bone Demon than go out with him.”
“Ew, did you have to be so graphic?” Wukong complained. “You're gonna put me off my drink.”
“Good. It tastes like shit.”
“Because you have no tastes.”
“I do have tastes. Anyway, you seemed to conveniently leave out the fact that this drink is peach flavoured.”
Wukong shrugged and smiled. “It's my favourite.”
“You sure you didn't make this out of your hair?” Macaque questioned, lip curling in disgust.
Red Son huffed. “No, I paid for his drink. And there's no need for you two to be so defensive.”
“We're back!” MK announced, flopping down against Red Son's side. “What did we miss?”
“Ah, yes, you are back,” Red Son flustered.
Macaque and Wukong shared a look.
So that's who Red Son liked then.
“Duh, that's what I just said,” MK laughed.
“We ordered every dessert they had!” Mei announced.
“Oh no,” Macaque whispered.
“Oh yes,” Wukong purred, eyes lighting up. “Desserts for everyone!”
The warrior dropped his head to rest against the table, grimacing at how sticky it seemed to be. “Why did I ever let myself be dragged along here?”
“Because you're our friend!” MK said.
“Greeaaaat.”
~•~
“Omg, these stationary sets are so naturecore, I have to have them for my aesthetics blog,” Mei gasped.
Wukong nudged Macaque to grab his attention before whispering. “Hey, d'you have any idea what that means?”
“No idea,” Macaque admitted. “As established earlier, I know aesthetic but that's about it.” The warrior smirked. “Aren't you the one who's ‘cool like the kids are’?”
“Shuddup,” Wukong laughed.
Macaque's tail flicked up to hit him in the back of the head before looking around. “So, we kinda lost Pigsy and Tang at the start.”
“Yeah, it'll be fine,” the king replied calmly, waving it off.
“Maybe for you. I for one would like to not be on kid sitting duty for the next decade.”
“It's only been two hours,” Wukong stated, snickering at the defeated groan Macaque let out. “What's wrong? Too old to keep up?”
“Wha- no,” Macaque denied sourly before continuing. “My feet hurt though. I'm not used to walking around this much. Usually I just use my shadows to get places.”
Wukong sighed before holding out his arms.
The warrior stared blankly at him.
“Climb on, I'll carry you,” the king offered.
Macaque immediately began to walk away from him. “Nope, nu-uh, never happening, find someone else prince fucking charming.”
“Come on Macaque, your pride won't be that wounded if you let yourself take a break,” Wukong whined, following him.
The shadow’s tail lashed behind him as he walked through the aisles of the shop, trying to catch up to wherever the other three had run off to. “I'll take a break when I get home later. Feet being sore isn't the worst thing I've had to deal with.”
Unspoken words hung between them and Wukong followed Macaque silently until they reached the trio, staring at row upon row of cards.
“Hey guys, whatcha looking at?” Wukong inquired, propping his head on MK's shoulder.
“We're helping Mei pick out a card for her dad's birthday,” MK explained.
“You could make one,” Red Son added. “Although didn't you say it's tomorrow?”
“Yeah,” Mei groaned. “I was so busy helping MK train that I forgot.”
“You forgor,” MK said.
“I forgor,” Mei affirmed.
Wukong straightened back up, whispering. “What language is this?”
“No idea,” Macaque said.
“No idea what?” Mei asked.
“Nothing.”
“‘kay.”
Wukong smiled at Macaque.
The shadow returned it with a small quirk of his mouth.
It wasn't much but it was better than it had been.
~•~
“That's it, I am not being dragged into a spa, I'm calling Pigsy,” Macaque said, digging his phone out his pocket.
“You have Pigsy's number?” Wukong asked beside him before continuing. “You have a phone?”
“Yeah, and?” Macaque tapped onto his contacts. “Got Pigsy's number after the kid crashed out at my place one time. Also he makes good noodles.”
“I know right?” Wukong agreed, mouth practically watering.
“Hello! Pigsy's Noodles, how can I-”
“Cut the crap Pigsy, your kids are trying to drag me into a spa and I know that you and Tang are still somewhere in this shopping centre.”
“Oh fuc- okay, where are you guys, I'll come and get ‘em,” Pigsy sighed.
“Seventh floor, top right corner, next to the arcade place.”
“Wait, there's an arcade place next door and they chose to go to the spa instead?” Tang questioned.
“Red Son is trying to convince us all to get princess pamper sessions before we get wrecked and lose all our money to useless games,” Macaque explained.
“That'd do it. We'll be there in a few.”
Macaque hung up, quirking an eyebrow at Wukong's sad expression. “What do you want now?”
“You're gonna ruin their fun,” Wukong complained, gesturing at where the three others were currently crashed out on a bench.
“No, I'm just getting us the rest of the evening off,” Macaque argued.
When Wukong still looked upset he sighed.
“If I play your shitty game this evening will that make it up to you?”
Wukong brightened up. “Yes! Although it isn't shitty, take that back.”
“Maybe. Depends on how good your game is.”
Macaque looked over at the trio. “Hey, Red Son, a word.”
The boy seemed sheepish as he walked over, a sharp contrast to his usual confident demeanour. “Yes?”
“You break MK’s heart and I'll break all your bones,” Macaque snarled quietly.
“Okay so you're just coming out with it,” Wukong muttered.
“P-pardon?” Red Son stuttered, hair letting off embers.
“You aren't subtle. So you heard me. If you break his heart, I will break all your bones.”
Red Son swallowed thickly. “Y-yes sir.”
“Good.”
MK walked up beside them. “What're you guys talking about?”
“We were just saying goodbye,” Wukong supplied, somehow having come up with a good excuse for once in his long life.
“Oh cool. I'm sleeping around Red Son's tonight so won't be able to make it to training tomorrow, is that okay?” MK said.
Macaque subtly shot Red Son a glare while he replied to MK. “That's fine, see you in a few days kid.”
The warrior opened up a shadow underneath himself and the king.
“No, no, no, no, no, not the shadow portal!”
~•~
“Ugh, I think I'm gonna throw up,” Wukong complained as he dropped out of the shadow portal.
“Too bad, you fly your cloud recklessly and the shadows are quicker,” Macaque replied, dropping down beside him before opening up their shared bag of shopping purchases and grabbing out a handful of clothes. “I'm gonna get changed then I'm ordering actual food for dinner.”
“But my way is cheaper!”
“Yeah, and it'll have you hacking up furballs until your eventual death, Wukong,” Macaque snorted, shutting himself into the bathroom.
Wukong rooted around in the bag and grabbed out one of the plain shirts he'd picked out, slipping off his robes and putting on the black t-shirt before grabbing a pair of loose blue jeans out of the bag.
The king settled down on the sofa, aimlessly flicking through channels on his TV until his tail brushed against someone else.
Wukong lifted his head up, staring at Macaque.
The warrior practically had a halo of light around his head from the setting sun behind him, a sliver of yellow fabric visible under his dark hoodie.
“Hey. You up for burning off some energy?” Macaque proposed and Wukong was in his feet within seconds.
“We haven't fought in ages,” Wukong sceptically tested.
Macaque shrugged. “Nothing serious. But I need to stretch out my limbs and test how flexible I am in these clothes.”
Wukong dragged his eyes up and down Macaque. “Mhm, because ripped jeans are gonna be sooo easy to move around in. Prepare to be beat.”
Macaque smirked, sweeping out one leg and knocking Wukong off balance.
“H-hey! No fair!” Wukong growled, reaching up and tugging Macaque down with the edge of his hoodie.
The warrior let out a squeak, collapsing down beside the king before going still.
“Oh shit. Macaque? You good, bud?” Wukong questioned, moving closer.
Macaque spun around, hands catching Wukong's and pinning them against the floor. “I cannot believe you just fell for that.”
“Yeah, well, it's been years since you played that card while we've fought,” Wukong argued, one leg kicking out and into Macaque's stomach.
The warrior's grip on his hands loosened, allowing the king to flip the two of them over as he hovered over him.
His hands closed around Macaque's, mimicking the move just used on him.
“Not so cocky now, huh?” Wukong challenged.
Macaque just laughed and rolled his eyes, opening up a shadow portal underneath himself.
Wukong pulled back, watching as the other sank into the floor and disappeared before a weight crashed down on his back.
“Fuck! Macaque!”
“Got you now,” Macaque taunted, the two of them rolling back and forth until Macaque pinned Wukong down.
The warrior was just shy of sitting on him, chest heaving as he breathed.
Wukong sighed. “Yeah, alright Mac, you win, now get off of me.”
The shadow paused, golden eyes staring at him.
“What?” Wukong inquired.
“You haven't called me Mac since- since before,” Macaque stated, his grip on Wukong's hands loosening.
Orange and pink hues of light shone off of his dark fur.
It was beautiful.
He was beautiful.
“No, no I guess not,” Wukong murmured.
Macaque rolled onto the floor beside him, both of them staring up at the ceiling.
“So, if Red Son does break MK's heart we are absolutely going to ruin his life, right?” Macaque questioned.
Wukong rolled onto his side, staring at Macaque.
Tufts of dark hair stuck up in different directions, framing his face.
The king reached out with a hand before hesitating when the warrior flinched, eyes closing.
A long moment passed, before Macaque quickly got up, with a mumbled sentence. “I'm going to order dinner.”
“Yeah, okay,” Wukong responded, mentally kicking himself.
Of course Macaque still didn't trust him, why should he?
After everything Wukong had done, he had no reason to.
“Hey, Wukong, how many portions should I order you?” Macaque asked, one hand muffling the bottom of his phone.
“Three, if that's okay,” Wukong answered.
Macaque nodded before continuing to quietly speak to whoever was on the other end of the line.
Wukong walked back over to the sofa, sitting down and trying to avoid looking at his friend.
Huh.
When had he started thinking of Macaque as a friend again?
The other side of the sofa dipped as weight settled down on it.
“I'm sorry for flinching,” Macaque whispered. “Really going against my therapy goals.”
Wukong blinked before looking over at him. “You go to therapy?”
Macaque's tail wrapped across his chest, curling over his opposite shoulder. “Well, I'm trying. Kind of hard though when most therapists are mortal and I have issues with opening up about things from my past.”
The shadow let out a deep breath before slowly relaxing against the king's side. “Is… is this okay?”
“Yeah, no, of course,” Wukong flustered a bit, shifting so that Macaque would be more comfortable.
Wukong turned so his back was resting against the arm of the sofa, one arm circling around Macaque's waist.
The warrior tensed under his touch slightly before relaxing back against him, pillowing his head on the king's chest. “You sure you're okay with this?”
“Geez Mac, I'm fine,” Wukong responded. “Are we gonna start playing my game now or d'you want to wait until after dinner?”
“After dinner. I want to get some rest in,” Macaque sighed, opening up a shadow portal over the top half of his head. “I'll wake up when the food gets delivered, I'll hear it. You should get some rest too.”
“Yeah alright. You get some rest.”
“Thanks Wukong.”
“No problem bud.”
~•~
Macaque's ear flicked inside the portal as footsteps ran up to the door of his dojo.
“Hold on,” he murmured to Wukong, unsure whether his friend was even awake before sitting up and slipping his upper body through the shadow portal.
“Knock knock!” The delivery boy shouted as Macaque reached over to open the door.
MK grinned and held up the couple of bags in his arms. “Hey Macaque! This is more than you usually order.”
“Yeah, well, I've got company,” Macaque said evasively.
“Is it Monkey King?”
“Nah, I have other friends,” Macaque lied, reaching out with one hand for the bags. “Aren’t you meant to be staying around Red Son's?”
“Yeah, I'm headed there after this,” MK explained.
“Have a good sleepover, kid.”
“You too Macaque!”
“No, kid, I'm not having a-”
“Bye Macaque!”
The shadow sighed, shutting and locking his door before slipping back through the portal to Wukong's house.
The king was still passed out on the sofa, snoring at an obnoxious volume.
Or perhaps it was actually quiet, and Macaque's sensitive hearing was getting to him more than usual.
“Hey, wake up.”
Wukong blinked awake, sitting up before his mouth watered at the sight of the takeaway bags. “Oh yes.”
Macaque rolled his eyes but passed over the three portions Wukong had asked for. “You know, if you keep eating that many portions then you're going to get fat.”
Wukong let out an offended gasp before shovelling some of the noodles into his open mouth. “No I'm not.”
“You are,” Macaque replied, teasingly poking him on the stomach. “See? Round.”
“It's cushioning. For when I may somehow end up on the floor,” Wukong explained.
“Because I beat you up,” Macaque snickered, opening up his own meal while Wukong began to dig into his second.
“Shuddup.”
“Make me,” Macaque challenged, tail lashing behind him.
Wukong's golden gaze flitted across him before he went back to his meal.
“That's what I thought.”
After they'd finished their meal, Macaque let out a sigh. “Alright then, put on your crappy game.”
“It's not crappy!” Wukong protested, already digging through the piles of DVDs in front of his TV. “Alright, found it. Get ready for the best game you'll ever play.”
“I highly doubt it,” Macaque mumbled, nearly dropping the headset and controller thrown haphazardly in his general direction.
“What was that?”
“I said ‘I highly doubt it’,” Macaque deadpanned. “This won't be anywhere near as good as my game.”
“You have a game?” Wukong laughed, plopping back down on the sofa beside him. “Okay, that I have to play after you're done with this.”
Macaque let out a grumble but adjusted the headset before putting it on, slouching against Wukong's side as the game registered him in.
An avatar looking surprisingly like him loaded in on a dirt path, a chicken running out of a bush in front of him before glitching and dying.
“Wow. What a surprise, I was right, this game sucks,” Macaque huffed.
The king's tail flicked up to curl around the warrior's arm. “Aww, c'mon Mac, give it a chance at least.”
Macaque sighed but began to walk his character along the path, stopped only a second later as another character spawned in front of him.
“Welcome traveller, on your journey to the west!” The Monkey King greeted.
The background image switched so the character was pointing at himself. “As the Great Sage equal to Heaven, you couldn't ask for a better tutor.” The screen switched back to the first picture of him. “On your journey, you will learn to smite powerful enemies.”
God this was boring.
“After you complete the tutorials, you will learn how to access your hidden potential.”
Ugh, good, back to the overworld.
Now if he could just-
“Defeat each opponent to work your way up to the final boss, the Rhino King,” Monkey King said.
“Couldn't afford the rights for Demon Bull King?” Macaque joked, elbowing Wukong in the side.
“Nah, just seemed boring seeing as I already beat him.”
“Here are seventy two combos-”
Skip.
“Pay attention-”
Skip.
“Make many friends along the way,” Monkey King advised and Macaque tore off his headset.
“What the fuck is that background art?!” The shadow screamed.
The king grinned. “Flattering, right? You would not believe how quickly the game sold out.”
“That's atrocious!” Macaque shouted, hitting him on the head before putting the headset back on.
Yeah, no, he was skipping through all of this.
Eventually it let him go and unlock abilities.
“Hey, these are all passive,” Macaque pointed out.
“Just give it a moment,” Wukong instructed.
The monk on the screen sighed before it flicked to a different ability menu.
Macaque's eyes roved over the screen before he took off the headset.
“Really?”
“What?”
“A fucking muscle bro version of yourself in just pants taking up half the screen?” Macaque growled because it was very obvious why he was pissed.
Wukong smirked. “What? I think it's a good view.”
“Self obsessed asshole,” Macaque grumbled, trying to just focus on buying a couple of different attacks before giving up and handing the game controller and headset over to Wukong. “No, I can't do this, this is just something for you to admire yourself.”
“Fiiiiine,” Wukong groaned. “But I want to play your game now.”
Macaque opened up a shadow portal, sticking his arm in and rooting around. “Seriously though Wukong, are you trying to seduce the player or something?”
Wukong grinned slyly at him. “Are you saying I'm hot?”
Macaque's face screwed up. “...No.”
“That's it, the Six-eared Macaque thinks I'm hot!” Wukong shouted before getting up and racing to the entrance of his house and cupping his hands around his mouth. “The Six-eared Macaque thinks that Sun-Wukong, Great Sage equal to Heaven, is hot!”
“Shut up,” Macaque said, withdrawing his hand and tossing the game case to Wukong as he walked back over.
“It looks like it was made by a five year old mortal,” Wukong giggled but put the disc in anyway.
When the king settled back down on the sofa, the warrior stretched out, laying his upper body across his friend's lap.
“And what do you think you're doing?” Wukong questioned before slipping the headset on.
“Making myself comfy.”
“Yeah yeah, I'm gonna beat this game in minutes.”
A moment passed as the game loaded.
“Why does everything look like a crappy anime?” Wukong inquired.
“Fuck you.”
~•~
“This is the fourth time I've done this encounter and I still haven't beaten it!” Wukong whined, throwing the controller across the room.
“Aww, too hard for you?” Macaque teased, not even cracking open an eye.
“Pfft, n-no!” Wukong floundered, taking off the headset and putting it on the floor. “I'm just going to take a break.”
“Sure you are,” Macaque snorted, opening his eyes a sliver.
Wukong stared, stock still, not sure if Macaque had realised that the glamour over his eye was down.
The scar over that side of his face was still hidden, but mismatching gold and milk coloured eyes fixed a tired gaze on him.
“Staring is rude,” Macaque murmured.
Wukong blinked, looking away. “Yeah, sorry.”
Macaque sat up, stretching with a yawn, hoodie riding up his sides slightly and exposing the yellow shirt he had on underneath.
It was surprisingly nice to see Macaque in bright colours.
Wukong reached out a hand to skim over the dark fur that stuck up on one side of his head, smiling softly when Macaque didn't flinch away.
“Hey, are your ears okay?” Wukong suddenly asked.
Macaque turned to face him, eyes back to their glamoured gold again. “Huh?”
“Well we were at a pretty busy place for most of today so I was wondering whether it was hard on your ears.”
Macaque seemed to blush. “Oh, no, they're all okay.”
The king's hand dropped to skim closer to where another two pairs of ears had to be hidden on the warrior. “Can I see them again?”
Macaque's eyes went wide and Wukong quickly withdrew his hand. “I'm sorry, you don't have to-”
The glamours dropped.
Wukong couldn't help but stare at the hues of colour on Macaque's ears, having nearly forgotten them over the centuries.
But there they were again, still with such resplendent glory.
Moonlight shone through the window, catching the back of Macaque's face with rays of light that made him shine.
“Rude to stare,” Macaque repeated, seeming to curl in on himself slightly.
“You're beautiful,” Wukong murmured, trying to ingrain this in his memory.
Maybe then he would have something to keep when they eventually fought again.
And just like that the glamours were back up, hiding Macaque's appearance behind a facade.
“I- I should go,” Macaque stammered, standing up and conjuring a portal in the floor.
“No, Mac, wait, I'm sorry-”
Too late.
His warrior was gone again, leaving him alone again.
Wukong sighed and dropped his head against the back of the sofa. “Idiot.”

Arcane S2E5
Oh hey it's the guy whose jaw Vi broke last season. He's got a metal jaw now. I relate to him.
Vi looks like she's doing awesome. Of course living in the underground she's constantly bombarded by either people cosplaying her sister or her ex establishing military law.
Are these drunken hallucinations, or does Vi also have elements of her sister's psychosis, and she just wasn't under the right kind of stressors to bring it out before?
Oh man Mel your skin has gone so ashy, have you been in a coma with no lotion for the entirety of the timeskip
What exactly did the doctor do to Jinx to save her life? She's corpse pale, and I don't like the look of those veins around her eyes. Did she die?
Journey into the transgender cave (trans flag walls)
Sibling behavior
Singed and Hilbert should hang out
That's… not really her brother is it
Nice, Mel caught on quick and immediately went for the kill, she internalized at least a little bit of being mommy's little monster. Not everyone could immediately smash the head of someone who looks like their brother
Oh hey, Mel has magic powers? Iirc she wasn't a LoL character pre-show so I figured she'd be normal
Unrelated but having rewatched s1 where Jinx was driven to a jealous frenzy over Caitlyn and Vi standing next to each other I'm surprised she threw in that "I hope you at least got to have gay sex before I kill you <3" comment. You'd think she'd be in more of a love loses mood.
Oh god I can only imagine how many people are now thirsting over scarless young Silco. Young Vander on the other hand is objectively a downgrade imo
Not sure how I feel about Vander and Silco knowing Vi and Jinx's mom beforehand. I kind of liked them just picking up random kids off the street rather than doing it because 'hey I know that kid'. Vander in the spirit of community mutual support, Silco because he has problems
Appreciate that Warwick comes with color coded mood signifiers
I'm sure this one moment of the sisters happily hugging their werewolf zombie dad is the last hope spot for the next 4 episodes. Since I just read Anne Carson's Antigone and it is On My Mind I'm thinking about the chorus while all the characters rush offscreen hoping to make it in time to stop the tragedy (they won't. it's a tragedy. they were all doomed from the beginning) going "we're still here, we're all fine, we're standing in the nick of time"
Aaaaaaand nick over, we are now in the industrial chamber of doom
Oh hey when the transgender furry mentioned a good doctor I thought she meant Singed, not Viktor. Well, enjoy your new legs I guess, elf council guy. Possibly evil legs? Because all prosthetics in this show are Sinister except Jayce's mom's fingers. Actually Jinx's finger is fine. You heard it here folks: fingers! the one body mod the showrunners don't think is too scary
Jayce is back from the shadow realm. Is he… glitching?
Jayce what the fuck man
Wait if Jayce was in some weird nightmare dimension that he just popped out of was he... in.... hammerspace........... (I'll see myself out)

star trek update time. monday we watched ds9's "in purgatory's shadow" (ohio edition), "by inferno's light" (ohio edition), and "doctor bashir, i presume" (ohio edition), which did blow my tits clean off, and then last night we watched voy's "unity" and "darkling" (south carolina editions, sadly).
in purgatory's shadow (ds9) (ohio edition):
kira and odo's little moment at the beginning of this episode 🥺 he was soooo embarrassed to be caught attempting to try and learn how to snag a spouse but she didn't judge even a little. girl, break up with your stupid ass boyfriend. odo is right here
i really loved bashir pointing the phaser at garak when he figured garak was lying. i was like oh damn he knows him so well and i love when this twink has had enough and becomes a little evil BUT THEN IT LITERALLY WASN'T HIM! what an incredible plot twist. we literally had to pause the episode and work out the timelines to see how long we had been living with changeling bashir. it was sooo good and i wasn't expecting it at all. mwah
jadzia and worf are so good. her personality being settled into like, comic relief makes for such a good match to his whole straight man aura. obviously she taunts him with his klingon operas. please.
also lol "at the first sign of betrayal i will kill him" <3
i do NOT like whatever they are doing with garak and ziyal. first of all, he's gay. secondly, she is like at LEAST 20 years younger than him. i want to trust them but after jake dating all those older women i am so suspicious
the backpedaling they're doing on fun and friendly former facist dukat is insane. not to say i'm not enjoying it. also, i like when he threatened kira and she was like "pffft whatever" like what a blow to his fucking ego. get his ass
VERY cool to see martok again - totally unexpected
our last wonderful surprise of this ep was tain being garak's DAD- it makes so much sense and puts so much into perspective, and, hi, JULIAN WAS IN THE ROOM DURING THIS. garak could have asked him to leave and he would have. garak could have told tain he was there. but he didn't, because he wanted the moral support, and because he wanted julian to know something true about him. AUUUGHGHGH
like, we haven't had NEARLY enough garashir since s2, but this was SUCH a good moment, even though it feels like they're trying to backpedal on that too. what a series of plot twists for this ep 10/10
by inferno's light (ds9) (ohio edition):
dukat's betrayal here i like vaguely saw coming, but jesus christ lol. he is back to FULL villain status...such a change from his little fireworks show for sisko and jake
garak's claustrophobia <3 absolutely loooved this especially since julian had to go in and get him. bangs tankard on table MORE GARASHIR! there literally has NOT been enough. i would love to know more about tzenketh but i know they will never ever tell us but wow <3
i am SO tired of seeing worf lose fights this episode was fucking great. not only did he not lose any fights except under an extremely unfair circumstances he totally kicked ass even while injured. FINALLY. even that jem'hadar guy was like i can kill him but i can't defeat him so i give up. SOOOO true finally let's respect my boy worf. why don't you bitches call him a pussy NOW
anyway, the little moment worf and garak had at the end of this episode...mwah. put them on the fuck chart
extremely excited to see gowran in this episode. he and his freaky eyes are so special to me
"this station was built by cardassia" "that's funny i thought it was built by bajoran slave labor" I LOVE WHEN SISKO IS FUN AND FERAL.
also i know the circumstances were extenuating but i cannot BELIEVE julian just fucking murdered that jem'hadar <3
watching little fake julian run around was so distressing...i kept yelling when he came on screen because nobody KNEWWWW he even fooled US! what a cool twist, again
overall these two episodes were incredibly good even though the strong action-y episodes are usually not ds9's forte. absolutely baller content for everyone except ziyal. i will at least take comfort in the fact that garak looked very uncomfortable to be hugged
doctor bashir, i presume (ds9) (ohio edition):
AGAIN. THIS ONE BLEW MY TITS CLEAN OFF
i'm mad garak wasn't in it. AUGHGHGH
okay, my main beef with this one was pacing...i thought they resolved the problem extremely quickly after the cat was out of the bag, and it's because they spent so much time on the doctor and leeta and rom. which would have been a GREAT b-plot for any other episode, i LOVE leeta and rom and i was cheering for him the whole time, but even though the EMH (sorta) cameo was very welcome, i do not welcome it at the expense of time taken from one of the most pivotal episodes for julian bashir probably in this whole series, especially when i have the sneaking suspicion that it won't be brought up again
and i did LIKE the resolution of this episode, his parents paying for what they'd done, but it didn't feel like he got to sit with it for long enough, and it certainly felt like we skipped over a few pivotal moments - the scene where he found out his best friend knows could have been EXTREMELY meaty. is he afraid of judgement? is he angry? is he worried miles will be angry? etc. but we just kind of breezed right on by it. like, i loved the way miles sat and let him get it out of his system in a fun inverse of julian talking him down from suicide but we could have had SOOO much more
anyway side from that i love. I LOVE. holy shit
like, i can't even talk about the episode itself, just this entire concept. like, they did essentially kill their kid. they made him the way he is, a new kid, and then hated him for the way he is. SPOCK CORE. and then to find that out as a teenager...
like, you know he had to google "does being genetically enhanced make me a bad person" and then of course what google spits out is "did you know about khan noonien singh and would you like to?" and he was like Oh No
like, he went into MEDICINE. and i know he had other reasons and all but he went into MEDICINE because that's the most harmless you can possibly be. he's using all his ill-gotten brainpower to HEAL PEOPLE because his first reaction was to not want to be khan...2! you can enhance genetics but just like o'brien said that can't grow compassion, which is what makes julian who he is
I WISH GARAK HAD BEEN THERE.
anyway, i will continue to think about dr bashir for a very long time and he definitely just rose a couple of notches in my character ranking
unity (voy):
i actually liked this one a lot. i love borg eps and i'm fascinated by a post-borg life lived by these people
that said, this lady gave off SUCH evil vibes that even after the truth was revealed and she and chakotay fucked i kept waiting for her to stab him in the back. which only kind of happened i guess
also, :( that chakotay is out here running around on janeway. SAD
i did love the borg meld scene though. it was incredibly scary. and i was TWIRLING MY HAIR when he got possessed or whatever the fuck
it was also so fun that he spent half of this episode dazed and stumbling around because of his little head injury. excellent material overall
oh yeah and i KNEW that corpse was gonna wake back up. i think it's so terrifying that when you're borg, even if you die, you aren't done. you can be revived because nothing kills you, not even the vacuum of space. that is easily the most horrifying part of it all
i also really liked chakotay and janeway's moment at the end. like, she was distrustful the entire time and he was too trusting, as he tends to sometimes be, and then at the end she was like aw but they weren't so bad and he was like [thousand yard stare of guy who has fucked 2! women who later betrayed him and has now been radicalized against the borg]
like i'm not saying it wasn't 99% consensual with riley or seska but i AM saying that he was hopped up on the borg meld when he fucked riley and later riley was willing to use chakotay's body for her own means when push came to shove and i'm saying that seska knew full well the whole time it was happening that it was under completely false pretenses and she stole his dna without his consent to make a baby he also didn't consent to, even if it turned out she fucked up and got that kaxon baby instead. like, chakotay better be careful or he's gonna start fitting into captain kirk's niche
darkling (voy):
this one fucking sucked so bad
like, sure, yes, emh evil now. does he have to keep creepy-touching all the women
also, WHAT? we get ONE LINE about kes and neelix breaking up and he's not even IN this episode? why did they even break them up??? just because they wrre planning on having her leave soon????? absolutely baffling
i don't think evil emh was very compelling...i am glad he got to act or whatever, but i didn't even get the usual "battle of the selves" that we often wind up with when we do these kind of tropes. it was just...a malfunction, and eventually it was corrected
also, what a BAFFLING b-plot. if you measure each of kes's years (except the first, i suppose) as a decade in human beings, we can assume she's in her thirties now, so she just...breaks up with her boyfriend to smooch the hot alien guy she met a few days ago and then maybe wants to run off with him? in her THIRTIES?
i DID like the EMH quoting the oath at the end, but without any sort of battle of the selves or real emotional investment in what he did when he was evil, it feels kind of wasted on this episode. it's a fine concept, but the execution falls soooo flat
NEXT TIME: voy's "rise" and "favorite son."

--Rant--
Cantonese Kingoh aired ep4 yesterday. and I'm. can't say pissed, but that word isn't far from the truth. It's just laughable to me, the whole situation. and I'm probably the most ridiculous of all.
So. Rita has 2 scenes in ep4 and we get two addresses: from Racules, "Saibannchou" (Chief Justice) and from Kaguragi, "Rita koku-ou" (Sovereign Rita)
The Catonese dub kept "Saibannchou" as is and changed "Sovereign Rita" to "Queen Rita".
That had me fuming!!!! ><><><>.<>.<>O< OOOOOOOOOOOO
That was completely unnecessary! and I feel a little "betrayed" for sitting through other less than desirable translation and voice acting (For example Himeno's ojou-sama hohoho laugh became a happy childish hahaha).
Worst is I don't even know WHO to point fingers at even if I'm low enough to lay blame by assumption. Is it the TV station? the outsource dubbing studio? the toy distributor?
The re-naming is a deliberate act and the translation logic doesn't even remain consistent within the same episode, since Saibannchou is kept as is without being re-contextualized in the HK/Cantonese law system to "Chief Justice".
I'm just really disappointed in how uncessary the change is. The TV station is even persumed (big air quote) to be "progressive" by having remade Ossan Love (or something, I haven't watched local TV in 5 years).
I guess I'm just made I've been confronted with the reality that representation/stereotype/awareness locally is just shit and LGBTQ+ issues are just a laughing stock or marketing tactic with the wider public simply refusing to listen or swept it under the "left plastic" rug. (and like, even as a casual viewer I've been watching queer representation in local TV production for as long as I can read…)
I know I'm wind up because I consumed caffiene that noon, but it just left me so sour and bitter? I want nothing more than to support the local broadcast of my favourite Sentai of all time. I have put aside funds for it. Now I just. I'm not even interested in watching my liege's debut episode! The dub was already bad, and this is just ourtright wrong. And it's almost like if I remain caught up, something the original was with me 'til the end, I'm the clown here.
It was like, you always knew the (Cantonese) dub is gonna be bad, you always knew this TV station/local distributor is so-so about the shows, you always knew the whole Cantonese dubbing industry is dwindling, you always knew HK people only likes to watch people pok gai WHY do you bother. I think I want to raise the question on li regardless of the slash if just to raise some awareness. I also try to stop myself from being too combative right from the start. I just be asking why was a change that completely oppose the original text was deemed necessary? Let's hear their consideration if they would even reply to my email. I be gonna looking at CFDA to launch a complaint or something.
The whole thing about Rita being denied a queer identity (from official or fans) that irks me is that the story was never even about their queer identity at all! The story isn't trying to push any agenda to the straights or there would've been an episode from Rita talking about their identity and its significance right???? The story is very much trying to break the binary by demonstrating their gender doesn't matter in regard to their actions and capability as king, by DOING NOTHING. And if higher-ups are gonna to catch whispers and shadows I'm just so, disappointed. The witch-hunting just go to show how fragile such conservative values and those who deem those as "the way it is" are.
p.s. i need to dig up the mainland chinese dub and taiwan dub for comparison, korean dub if i can…
-> chinese dub kept Koku-ou as is and taiwan dub airs this friday
p.p.s./edit: i read a comment that ep1 deleted some violent scenes because the programme is not PG, i.e. the TV station doesn't bother putting a PG warning before the show, going through the communications authroity guidelines (re: not law) for related sections
-> the guidlines only has a section on sex/nudity instead of queer topics. The diction was very vague too on other categories under what requires a parental guidance label. But there has been precedents and other actual laws that i can look up.
I'm just really tired after all these typing and I should really shift my focus on something useful like the tons of VS talks, behind-the-scenes and Yuzuki and Erica's photo book press release.

anniversary munday
celebrating TOA and the people who contribute to make our group what it is. repost, don't reblog. only fill in what you feel comfortable sharing! happy anniversary, TOA! here's to many more years spent together.
Name: Bren
Pronouns: they
Birthday (no year): Nov 6th
Where are you from? What is your time zone? NJ, EST
How long is your roleplay experience? 10+ years
How were you introduced to roleplaying as a whole? Warrior cats official forums back when they were around! Stumbled into fanclans first and then went into human OCs with PJO. FERP was my first time playing canon characters.
How were you introduced to TOA? Heh.
Do you have any pets? I currently have Klein, 7 month old Standard Manchester Terrier. Recently said goodbye to Frisky, 15 year old terrier mix and my childhood dog.
What is your favorite time of year and why? (Season, holiday, general period) Right about now, late summer-early fall when the weather is starting to get reasonable.
What is your IRL occupation? Office admin/events coordinator.
Some interests and things you like/enjoy? I try to keep up with my art! I also like to listen to financial podcasts.
What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? HSR and Sudoku
Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: If I had to pick a type, maybe normal? As for Pokemon I have a soft spot for all dog pokemon but Dachsbun and Mabosstiff knocked it out of the park for me.
Tell us some funfacts and trivia about yourself! I am allergic to raw apples. My favorite childhood snack was cut apple with salt and lime and I miss it so much. Apple juice hits but it's not the same. I also wrote a couple of supports for the Gay Fates hack way back when! Though I wouldn't want to read them now tbh hahah old writing....
How did you get into Fire Emblem? I was... maybe 14? I saw Awakening, thought it was interesting and picked it up only to rage quit at chapter 9 (was too focused on marrying Frederick asap that the rest of my army was behind). Then I got interested in Fates and the rest is history.
What Fire Emblem games have you played? I've played Awakening, Conquest, Shadows of Valentia, Sacred Stones, Three Houses (GD Route) and Engage. ...The only games I played through the end were Sacred Stones and Three Houses—
First & Favorite Fire Emblem games: First was Awakening! I have a soft spot for Fates gameplay.
List your 5 favorite Fire Emblem characters across the series! I don't play favorites :weary: Alcryst grabbed me like no one else has tho tbh I'll give him that.
Who was the first character ever to make you go “ooh I like this one in particular” and why? Can be any context and reason! Volug/Nailah. I know I said I got into FE through awakening but my actual first introduction to Fire Emblem was through a youtube video that was showing off the laguz transformation and attack animations. Please understand this was in the midst of my middle school werewolf phase.
Any Fire Emblem crushes? 😳 Not a crush per se but (slaps noise cancelling headphones on Alcryst before dunking his head into a toilet bowl) Diamant is neat :)
If you’ve played (or are familiar with) the following games, who was your first S support? Who would you S support nowadays? - Awakening: First Frederick, now Lucina - Fates: First Silas, now still Silas - Three Houses: First Claude, now probably still Claude - Engage: I didn't get that far. My first choice was Diamant but I fucked up and he's too far behind to support now, so I'd go with Pandreo
Favorite Fire Emblem class? A good armor knight is worth their weight in gold. Donnel!Kjelle, Louise, and Effie were beasts in my playthroughs.
If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class and stats? Would you be playable? If I was a Fire Emblem character I would be dead <3 But if I had to be playable I would be an early game cleric/support unit type.
If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation? Regular civilian! But if I had to pick a house, absolutely Golden Deer
If you were an Officers Academy student, what would be your boons, banes and potential budding talent? Boons: Faith, Heavy Armor Banes: Literally everything else. Maybe Authority budding talent?
If you were an Engage character, which nation would you originate from? Firene, they have good weather
How do you pronounce TOA? 🤔(separate letters, to-ah, other?) Tee-Oh-Ay
Current TOA muses: Alcryst and Claude
Past TOA muses? Nanna, Lukas, Arval, Niles, Silas, Lyon
Who was your first TOA muse? If you no longer have them, can you see yourself picking them up again? Claude!
Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? The fact that I wrote three moon-associated archers is completely coincidental!!!!!! I like grounded characters that can be both amicable and absolutely vicious when the situation calls for it.
Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? Tiki is one of those characters that I think I could RP well but I'm not confident I would be able to keep up with the Archaneans. Rhea is similar, but where I trip up with her is that bc she is such an important central character esp to Fodlan's history I'm intimidated by the idea.
What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? Emotional scenes... anything where there's love and family involved gets me crying
Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? FELL XENOLOGUE ALCRYST!!!! Alcryst in situations basically
Favorite TOA-related memories? Claude surviving Ree's Hundred Hand Snake bitch double boss from Unlocked Hell.
Present or past tense? Present.
Normal size text, small text, no preference? Normal, formatting is a pain
Got any potential muse delusions to share? 😉 F!Shez! I'd like to play female characters actually.

Having a normal one! he/him/his. 34+. I write a lot of Tyzula fanfic. Working on OCs and original stories right now. Friend of Mara's. Daenerys and Villanelle deserved better. Homura did nothing wrong. Yuri and WLW enthusiast, but will enjoy het ships as well. I enjoy a vast multitude of fandoms and I make no apologies for the diversified content and constant hopping around. I like what I like.
Please stop burying your gays. I much prefer when they get to kiss each other and have happy endings and live happy lives.
I'm an adult who spent most of my personal and professional life working to support women, gender equality, and other feminist related matters. I also use a bunch of my adult money to commission art of my fandoms.
TERFs can frick off. BLM. Stop the genocide in Palestine. AI art is not real art. Protect trans kids!
I'm not perfect. I'm always learning. Please be understanding.
Alright. Now that all of that's out of the way, what you're really here for:
Touch of the Sun: The Tyzula work that put me on the map. Ty Lee and Azula are in love from childhood, but Azula can't admit it and Ty Lee is too scared to bridge the gap. For a while at least. 90K words.
Dragon Empress: The Legend of Azula. Six books that I wrote over 3.25 years that covers Azula's entire life from post-Smoke and Shadows comics all the way to the end of her natural life. It's a lot but I think it's worth it. Long, long, long form redemption. Tyzula endgame. 465K words.
My Moon Flower: This one is well known because I collaborated with rising super star and Tyzula fan Vago to make a comic of it for Tyzula Week 2023. 5.9K words.
February 20th: Azutara. Arguably the best thing I've ever written. Has inspired fan art! Modern AU. Azula and Katara don't realize how much of their lives are intertwined. That's the beauty of every day life: we don't know what's going to happen on any given day. 11K words.
Autumn Leaves Trilogy: Digimon fic. Rukato. Long form trilogy series I wrote over 14 years. The first fics I ever did write. The last one, "Autumn Ends" is worth reading and I'm quite proud of it. 112K words.
Alright, I think that's about it. You can connect with my better on the blue bird app. I'll talk to anyone about Tyzula, at the very least.

Pre-San Remo interview so wild that I have to routinely hunt whatever version YouTube hasn't removed for copy right infringement to convince myself if actually happened.
Here are the highlights paraphrased:
Do you sleep with a different person every day? D: No. Every week? D: No. Man, women, or both? D: Women.
Have you ever been in a relationship with a much younger woman? D: No, "much younger than me" is what? Kindergarten?
Have you ever been in a relationship with a much older girl? D: Yes. From 18 to 34...is 16 years (of age difference).
Have you ever experienced or been subjected to sexual harassment in a musical environment? V: Hmm, no.
Have you ever been aware of sexual blackmail in your environment? V: Of people close to me that I know directly, no.
If it happened, what would you do? V: I'd try to comfort the person that had suffered harassment and I'd try to encourage them to report the facts and to talk about it.
Do people catcall you? V: Yes. Does it bother you? V: Yes, it's annoying. Can it be considered on par with harassment? V: Yes. Obviously, its psychological and verbal harassment, not physical. However, that does not make it any less serious.
Have you ever told off a persistent fan? D: Not because of his persistence...Once, when we were playing there weren't barriers. Victoria bent over and a guy had the friendly idea of touching her butt.
What did you do? D: I told him a few things. Not good things.
Who spends more on porn? T: We don't need those sites. D: Ethan! V: Ethan! E: I don't know why I feel like the others said my name. Am I wrong? Anyways, it's not me.
And are you in favor of legalizing prostitution? All: Yes.
Do you have a girlfriend in common? D: Not that I know of. T: Absolutely not. E: God, what a weird question.
And a boyfriend? D: Neither. T: No.
Have you ever thought about the fact that sooner or later you could disband? T: There is so much chemistry that no. E: No, never wanted to think about it.
Have you ever thought of leaving the band to become a soloist? D: Absolutely not.
Is being in the shadow the fate of musicians who are not frontmen? E: No. T: No. I'm also a guitarist so I don't have this problem.
Aren't you envious of John Lennon and Paul McCartney? T: Absolutely not. E: No, it's just self-destructive.
Have you ever taken psychedelic drugs or sedatives? All: No.
Pro legalization of soft drugs? All: Yes.
Voluntary euthanasia? All: Yes.
Who smokes more weed? T: I don't know. D: Me. V: Damiano E: Damiano.
How many cigarettes do you smoke per day? D: 5-10.
Cialis or Viagra? D: None. Misfire (premature ejaculation), it happens to everyone. What do you do when it happens to you? D: Wait a quarter of an hour.
How many hours do you spend making love? D: It depends on the week. And masturbating? D: Not many (times).
Are you in a relationship? D: I won't tell you that. Then tell us if you cohabitate. D: I live alone.
To win your affection, how much does it count (on a scale) from 1-10? Buy you dinner? V: Zero. Have a six pack? V: Zero. Have intelligence? V: Seven. Have a nice ass? V: Seven. Have a beautiful smile? V: Eight.
Have you ever had mutual attraction with a celebrity? V: Yes.
Do you receive interest even from women? V: Yes. Have you ever had a fling with a girl? V: Yes. How did it go? V: Good!
Do you get advances even from boys? D: It's happened.
Does it bother you if people think you're gay? D: Absolutely not.
Who hooks up the most? T: Depends on the moment. E: None. V: Ethan. D: Ethan.
Do you sleep together? V: All four, it's too much. D: Two by Two. T: It's happened. E: Me and Thomas sleep together when we have to split the group in two parts.
Do you support yourself by music or do you still get pocket money? D: I've able to support myself through music.
Has your family ever struggled to make ends meet? D: No, we are an average family.
Have you ever got a panic attack before a concert? E: No. T: Never. D: Not before a concert. V: Yes, it was awful. I tried to calm down and the guys helped me distract myself.
Have you ever been to a psychologist? T: No. E: No. V: Yes. D: Yes. How long? D: I'm still In therapy.
The most short tempered? D: Me. V: Me. E: Damiano. T: Sometimes me.
The most vain? E: Victoria at the beginning (of the band). T: All four. V: Damiano. D: I think myself.
And now do you always wear a mask? V: Yes, of course.
Will you vaccinate? All: Yes.

System Recommendations Based On What I Like About D&D
Sometimes you want to play a different system because you are looking for a brand-new experience. Sometimes you want to play a different system because you have an ethical objection to the one you're playing now. If you're the latter, you probably don't want to hear about how awesome games like Orbital Blues and Stillfleet are. They are awesome, but right now you're looking for a system to move to that can capture the magic you feel playing Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. This post is for you.
Here are the parts of D&D 5e that I really enjoy:
Involved Character Customization ("Build Creating")
Tactical Combat
Ability to use Magic
Appealing World
High Fantasy With Heroic, Upbeat, or even Comedic Undertones
Getting to be Gay with my Friends
Each of my recommendations has at least two of these factors and is intended to be played in a group setting over multiple sessions. So let's jump in!
Blue Rose (or The AGE System)
Features: Tactical Combat, Build Creating, Magic, Appealing World, High Fantasy, Gay
Blue Rose uses the AGE System, which might be some of my favorite tactical combat design. In particular, I love stunts. When you roll good in combat or other scenarios, you get stunt points, which you can spend to create additional effects, like setting up a teammate or taunting your opponent. There's a lot of options to choose from when building a character, and you can make some of that stuff synergize real well. This is all true of most AGE system games, so I'd also recommend checking out Fantasy AGE and the Dragon Age TTRPG.
Blue Rose in particular is all about Romantic Fantasy: humans going on fantastical adventures with magic talking animals, protecting the land and those who would harm it, that kind of stuff. The setting is also explicitly queer, and "relationships" are an emphasized part of character creation and development. Found Family all over the place.
If you liked The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, or the Uncaged anthologies, you might enjoy Blue Rose!
7th Sea
Features: Tactical "Combat," Magic, Appealing World
7th Sea is all about swashbuckling adventure, court intrigue, and intense action. There technically isn't a "combat" system in 7th Sea, so much as there is an "action" system. Swordfights, escaping a burning ship, high-stakes chases: all that stuff uses the same system, where you have to think about how to set up good opportunities. The combat is meant to be fast-paced. GMs are encouraged to not give players too much time to think.
The world is full of secret societies and shadow organizations, as one would expect for a game about gentlefolk and intrigue. One of my favorite parts in particular is the "Story," which is what 7th Sea calls a PC's backstory. There are guidelines for creating one, with expectations and progression hard-coded in, from the First Step to the ultimate resolution.
There's a lot here to do with Ship Combat. If you liked Ghosts of Saltmarsh or 3rd Party products like the Seas of Vodari, give this a look.
Thirsty Sword Lesbians
Features: Upbeat Fantasy, GAY
Let me start by saying that you can play this game in any genre. In the Advanced Lovers and Lesbians expansion there's even rules for playing a session as a pack of hyenas. But if your table is the type to really lean hard into developing your characters' relationships, between PC and NPC and PC and PC, then this is the game for you. Mechanics allow you to place strings on other characters, giving you "pull" with them to influence a later decision. Status conditions are extreme emotions, and the only way to deal with them is to lean on another teammate for emotional support or indulge them in a cathartic and destructive manner (you can relieve being angry by breaking something that has value to another person, for example).
If you are gay and you play D&D you are legally obligated to try TSL. I DO make the rules.
Court of Blades
Features: Magic, Appealing World
When folks say they like Eberron and want to do crimes, I tell them to play Blades in the Dark. When folks say they like fey magic and high society and doing dirty work for wealthy patrons, I tell them to play its sexy cousin Court of Blades. CoB is a Forged in the Dark game, meaning it uses the Blades system. Instead of a heist crew, you're a coterie, and you perform errands for your patron that run the gamut from assaulting a rival to publicly embarrassing them.
One of my favorite parts about FitD systems is how it handles the aftermath of your adventures. Different groups across the city might react differently to the news, and that propels future adventures. The City of Ilrien is full of hooks and briars for your characters and GMs to get stuck on.
Court of Blades might seem like the outlier on this list, but my favorite official 5e adventure was Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. If you liked that one too, and you're looking to lean into that WAY more, you should give CoB a look.

I feel like there's a significant subset of the world - both queerphobic and pro-queer - that sees Queer Rights, i.e., the slogan, not the concept, as centering on the intersection of Penis + Femininity.
When it's queerphobes sticking to this image, that's when we get culture war bullshit that's shining a constant burning midnight sun spotlight on transfems and queer men and drag queens and intersex people with any inclination toward femininity. This is the most visible impact to your average "I don't do politics" guy.
But even within the community, it also prescribes a very narrow idea of what a cis or intersex-without-a-penis lesbian can be - you present the idea that not all butches are 100% service tops and absolute experts with a strap-on and people look at you like you grew a second head, femme lesbians and lesbian bottoms are treated like they're somehow Less Queer, and transmascs are treated as basically the antithesis of queerness; if the queerness that we need to defend and fight for = femininity + penis, then masculinity + (presumed) vagina is, like, the OPPOSITE of what we need to care about-
Even though to queerphobes, the hate is still there, it's just sloppier, more shrouded in shadows, harder to describe, harder to define. The framework for HOW to hate people who don't meet that standard is much less defined-
But it's also more socially acceptable, in a paradoxical way, because on some level those of us who are not Feminine + Penis Queer(TM) are seen as not being protected by the defense movements for drag queen story hours - and a good amount of the time, they're right, be it because even some of the pro-queer rights people truly are playing by their rules, or because their ill-defined hate toward anyone who fails to conform to the white supremacist standard of what The Two Genders are but ALSO fails to fit into their framework of why they're "supposed" to hate The Homosexual Agenda is just as hard for us to dissect as it is for them.
This is not to create a hierarchy of oppression. This is not to say that anyone who has a penis inherently oppresses anyone without, because that is just demonstrably not true. This is not to make an argument about which gender of queer people inherently Has It Worse; I am strongly of the belief that once you have "failed" hard enough at your assigned or actual gender it starts to even out and I have data to support that.
Rather, it is to serve as a call to start questioning the idea that queerness begins and ends at the intersection of femininity and penises. To step back and ask yourself if you have bought into this idea, whether you think it is good or bad. It is to ask yourself if you have more positive or negative feelings toward the combination of feminine + penis vs. masculine + vagina and start unpacking that - and in fact to go even further and start unpacking, what are your feelings toward OTHER combinations and do THEY differ? Beards and lipstick? Muscles and gowns? Masculinity + femininity + some entirely different genital configuration, be it by birth or by body modification? It is a call to recognize people who express queerness by deliberately overperforming their gender, whether they're cis or trans, regardless of what genitals they have or why - when gender conformity becomes so farcically intense that it loops right back around to nonconformity, as is the case for many femme lesbians or gay leathermen.
And above all else, it is a call to recognize that queerphobia comes for ALL of these examples of nonconformity-
And it will help every single one of us if we stay a step ahead of the game in recognizing WHY, in recognizing WHAT we're transgressing instead of waiting for queerphobes to publish books about it and then STILL debating whether they REALLY mean those things or not.

Note
misto for the headcanon asks please !
☾ - sleep headcanon
Misto sleeps curled up in a ball, with his tail curled up over his side. He's slept like that his whole life, and he can even tell roughly how long he's been asleep by how stiff his legs are when he wakes up.
He gets cold easy; when they were smaller he and Tugger could often be found curled up together in a nap. ('But you don't like cuddling' Munk says. 'He gets cold, Munk' baby Tugger says, as if he's speaking to an idiot.)
★ - sad headcanon
Misto gets sad pretty easily. I hc him as autistic, and when he was small it made it hard for him to feel like he was 'part' of any community because the differences in how he acted and thought and behaved. Everyone loved him, but he never felt like he was 'like' everyone else. He's much happier as an adult, but still gets nervous/insecure/paranoid about being the last to understand something and will frequently pretend to know/understand things if he thinks it's something he should know.
Additionally, his palms produce glitter when he's nervous. It's always happened since he was small. He tries to play it off as a deliberate act of magic whenever he notices it happen.
☆ - happy headcanon
He sparkles when he's happy! Misto's favorite thing to do is dance, so oftentimes when he's dancing for fun he'll start sparkling without realizing it.
☠ - angry/violent headcanon
On account of growing up in Macavity's shadow, Misto is very very good at not lashing out physically or magically when he's angry. Because of this, he's often only left to lash out with words when the mood takes him, and when it does he can be vicious.
✿ - S‌e‌x headcanon
-Most of the jellicles are bi, it's just kind of how they tend to be. You oftentimes see cats that have a preference one way or another, but 100% straight/gay cats are kind of a rarity. When he hit the cat version of the age of majority/consent and wasn't interested in any queens, everyone thought he was just a late bloomer. They all learned otherwise a year or so later.
-Misto actually happened to have his sexuality crisis while watching Jerrie goof around one night, which is something he plans on taking to his grave. 'MUNGOJERRIE OF ALL TOMS????' he oftentimes thinks to himself when recalling that particular occasion.
(Unrelated to the topic, but while Misto & Jerrie are friends, Misto thinks Jerrie is the most obnoxious motherfucker on the planet, and Jerrie's had an on-and-off crush on Misto since he was small. But like, come on, the guy can get into so many shenanigans with his magic that anyone would like him a little. Right? Right??????)
■ -  Bedroom headcanon
Misto never ends up putting together a den for himself; he ends up moving into Tugger's before he gets around to it. He does spruce Tugger's place up with a big fur coat he stole repossessed from a human as well as some shiny bits and bobs he took from that 'Christmas tree' thing his humans put up every year.
♡ - romantic headcanon
-Misto doesn't think he's particularly good at being romantic. Tugger would entirely disagree: Misto has a tendency to say largely casual but also super meaningful/touching things offhandedly pretty much all the time. Misto never thinks much of these remarks but they mean the world to Tugger, and even make him annoyed sometimes that Misto can be so thoughtful/tender/supportive seemingly without thought-- meanwhile he has to put a lot of thought and work into his (very grand usually) romantic gestures.
-Misto can be lost socially without having a 'script' or expectation on how a conversation should or usually would go. As he got older he gained a lot of 'scripts' and grew better at interacting with people in a way that seemed ''''normal'''' (masking, essentially). When he started getting into the romance trenches with Tugger, Misto was entirely lost for scripts for that kind of interaction, as he'd never been in a romantic situation before and never paid attention to other people's, so it was kind of distressing for him at first.
-Prior to their relationship and in said relationship's early days, Misto & Tugger got frequently stuck in a cycle of 'Tugger makes a romantic gesture' > 'Misto doesn't know how to interpret said gesture or how to respond' > 'Tugger doesn't get the reaction he'd wanted and doubles down with a different gesture' > 'Misto grows even more confused & even distressed by Tugger's unusual behavior' > 'repeat until someone gets sad/annoyed enough that an actual conversation happens'
♥ - family headcanon
Misto & Victoria being siblings is my fav thing. (I never got into Alonzo being their brother even though in terms of cat genetics it would make sense they'd be related). They're not entirely close with their uncle Bustopher, but Misto looks up to him to an insane amount.
Their father was Bustopher's twin, their mother was another white cat like Victoria, and both died when they were young. Neither of them remember their mother well enough to say, but Victoria looks a lot like her.
They were placed in Munkustrap's care by Bustopher after both of their parents died. (As a result Tugger and Misto have been close friends for a long time)
☮ - friendship headcanon
Most of my hcs are at least loosely based off of 98, so this surprised me when I first noticed it, but 98 Misto doesn't seem to like Pouncival and Tumble very much! I always kind of figured the three of them as buddies-- but I was watching 98 a few weeks ago and noticed Misto doesn't seem to enjoy it when either of them are near him.
But whatever, I hc the three of them as pals. They have contests about ballet positions and backflips & dare each other to hassle the older cats without getting caught.
♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon
Cat quirk: He scratches behind his ear when he's nervous/overstimulated. When he's going through bad times, he'll scratch it so often it'll get to the point of breaking skin.
Human quirk: He hates clothes that are loose (as well as scratchy or constraining) so he wears a lot of tight-fitting and movable things-- think athleticwear. His closet is also 90% black with some navy blue and the occasional white piece thrown in. ('Why are you dressed like kim kardashian attending a funeral?' -Victoria Jones, expert fashionista)
☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon
-He's very particular about his fur, especially around his jaw and neck, and doesn't like being nuzzled in the area. Most cats have their own way around this: Skimble pats him on the shoulder, Munk nuzzles the top of his head, he and Victoria bonk foreheads, Tugger (post-get-together) will take one of his hands and rub his face against that whenever he gets nuzzley. Most cats tend not to touch Misto though, they have a vague awareness he doesn't like it, though they don't know the specifics.
-Misto loves to feel useful/helpful, and when he was small Munk was always giving him fake jobs to do because he kept asking for a way to help, to the point where he'd cry if Munk told him there was nothing he could help with. Misto folded up many old cardboard boxes over the course of his kittenhood.
▼ - childhood headcanon
I accidentally talked so much about his childhood because I forgot about this section.
-Munk partially raised Misto and Victoria, as well as a handful of other regulars in the Junkyard, but since Misto and Tugger were such close friends, Munk considers Misto to be essentially another Deuteronomy brother.
-For a long time, when teleporting, Misto couldn't make himself 'go' to a certain place; every time he blinked out he had no idea where he was headed, just that it would be somewhere nearby. He gave Munk several heart attacks with this ability over the years.
∇ - old age/aging headcanon
After Deuteronomy dies, Munk steps into the role of the Jellicle leader and Misto steps into the role of the caretaker that Munk left vacant (while Alonzo gets the protector part of Munk's job, even if Misto's magic makes him a pretty efficient protector himself). This isn't something Misto willingly set himself out to do-- he kind of fell into it. But man, is he a good babysitter. Kitten ran off? No worries, he can teleport them back with a snap of his fingers. No one paying attention for dancing lessons? He has a million tricks to catch the attention of a distracted kitten. Is someone just all around poorly behaved? He grew up alongside Tugger, he's seen the worst London has to offer.
On account of interacting with a lot of kittens of London through the years, as he gets older he's a pretty universally beloved cat. After a certain point just about every cat in London so many years younger than him calls him 'Uncle', a nickname Victoria encouraged after having kittens of her own, very well aware of how much Misto looked up to their own uncle. He becomes the 'kind and wise spiritual leader' figure once he becomes an elder. And Tugger is his crazy old man husband/mate.
♒ - cooking/food headcanon
Human Misto's not a great cook but he is a bit of a health freak so he can fend for himself in the kitchen. He doesn't really have any sensory issues with food so he'll eat pretty much anything & is always snacking on trail mix, bananas, and other healthy stuff around lunchtime.
His favorite foods are lemonade and dark chocolate. He usually tries to limit his intake of these things, but Tugger is always buying Misto a bar of chocolate or a can of lemonade and then arguing that Misto has to 'pay a fee' to actually receive them. ('You want me to pay a fee for the thing you're giving me?' 'Yes.' 'What- What's the fee?' '😇A kiss.😇' 'WHAT.')
☼ - appearance headcanon
Misto can change the color of cats' fur: add patterns, remove patterns, change color of certain parts, change color of the full body... It's all temporary, though. And that's how he changes his look for his song during the ball.
He's not a fan of his white markings on his arm and legs, which is why he removes them for his big moment. He thinks not having them makes him look more sleek & mature, and dislikes that they're asymmetrical. Plus he heard Tugger call Alonzo 'splotchy' one too many times when they were kittens to not take it to heart.
(Tugger actually likes Misto's leg markings a lot; he was pretty disappointed when Misto came down from the ceiling and they were gone.)
ൠ - random headcanon
Pretty much all of the kittens around his age or younger had a crush on him at some point of their collective childhoods. Just about every cat other than him in the Junkyard is aware of this fact.

Hello. I’ve been following you, unofficially, for a little bit (like a shadow I guess). I agree with a good number of your statements (and can agree to disagree with others). I had a few questions about some and wanted to ask them.
Do you find any validity in the LGBTQ+ movement?
Are you a men’s rights activist or with the men’s rights movement?
Are you a Trump supporter? (I don’t believe you ever said, so this is just a random question)
Why do you not believe in a patriarchy? Do you think any such systems exist that lean toward / favor men? If so, do you believe it’s the same for women?
What do you think of the BLM movement?
In your opinion, does structural/systemic racism exist? Why or why not?
What political ideology do you alight with most? (I’d guess conservative or maybe even libertarian lite)
And to end, one last random one: do do you think that the extravert ideal is highly favored in the US/western countries? What do you think about the extravert ideal?
You have the right to keep your opinions under wraps. But honestly, I don’t see that being a concern for you, seeing how outspoken you are. Also, sorry for how much pure, unbridled hate you get for simply having opinions that are not [popular] with the mainstream. You don’t deserve that, no one deserves that, and I just wanted to tell ya. :)
Have a good one!
Wow, those are all good questions but this would be an insanely long post if I went into the detail each one deserves, so I'll try keep it short.
(SPOILER: I failed.)
Do you find any validity in the LGBTQ+ movement?
Yes to the first and particularly second letters, as the historical criminalization and brutal persecution of consensual homosexuality was always cruel and unjust, though lesbianism was and is comparatively excused and overlooked and rarely violently oppressed to anything like the same degree. The "Bi" and "Q" parts are largely superfluous, and the "T" part has no real reason to be in there at all, since gender dysphoria is a medical condition, not a sexuality.
As with the feminist movement, I think any substantial and just goals were achieved decades ago and I don't see any defensible reason for the perpetual hostility and relentless promotion of LGBTQRAMZ24JL%$🧸 propaganda in the 21st century: the last campaign I can remember holding any water was the push for recognition of gay marriage, and little before that for a long time: most gay activism today seems to come from a vengeful, privileged and protected position chiefly concerned with bullying others, like the monsters going all out to hound and destroy the Christian owners of a cake shop who politely declined to bake a gay wedding cake that went against their religious beliefs. The oppressed have become the oppressors, and it's very ugly to see. Celebration of other people's sexual activity should never be mandatory, and all the corporations hauling out their rainbow flags year after year are weird, preachy, tiresome and unwanted, so all these actions will inevitably lead to an exhaustion of goodwill and tolerance in the larger populace, which in the long run will not benefit gay people at all.
Are you a men’s rights activist or with the men’s rights movement?
No, I don't consider myself so: when I first got red-pilled I hung out in some MRA spaces, because they were the only ones at the time discussing the things I was thinking about, but I haven't checked in on them in over 10 years. All political movements tend towards echo chambers and extremism, even when a good many of their positions are solid and their goals are just. I don't feel comfortable with any labels, so I just go my own way, do my own thing and think for myself, take each issue as it arises and try to locate and align myself with whatever truth can be found in it.
Are you a Trump supporter? (I don’t believe you ever said, so this is just a random question)
I'm not American, so I don't directly have a dog in the race, but the media misrepresentation and bias against Trump, along with the political persecution, has been so overwhelming, relentless, unprecedentedly blatant and unjust, that if I was American I would certainly vote for him, simply because those who are openly conspiring against him have been revealed over the past 6 years or so to be so much worse. And, unlike all the career politicians "on" "both" "sides" who do nothing but trot out pretty, hollow and meaningless untruths while serving military-industrial interests and the status quo, I think he really does represent some kind of necessary, urgent and beneficial change, so I hope he gets re-elected in 2024.
Why do you not believe in a patriarchy?
At least in the west, it's a silly and hysterical conspiracy theory that has little grounding in reality, essentially asserting that all human civilization is best explained as a conspiracy on behalf of all men to benefit all men through the oppression and exploitation of all women, but that somehow no men are aware of or in on. To believe such nonsense you have to have either never known, liked or talked to ANY man, or be insane. Or both.
Western civilization is the very opposite of what feminists claim, in that it has always given special provisions and protections to women that men have never had, and attempted to curb and punish the selfish and sociopathic tendencies of the minority of dangerous men. It's the carving out of some civility in the wild and brutal dog-rape-dog natural world, which has benefited women enormously, but is massively under attack from every left-wing movement today: the advent of things like the current gender ideology, largely started or supported by feminism, is now clearly and inarguably harming real women, and stripping away protections so many of them never even realized they had.
And teaching women to hate and avoid men, and to instead seek fulfillment only in selfishness and wage-slavery: this has just produced millions upon millions of miserable, lonely and entirely unfulfilled women. Feminism is cancer.
Do you think any such systems exist that lean toward / favor men? If so, do you believe it’s the same for women?
It appears to me the modern Islamic world, which is probably the closest thing to what feminists would call an actual "patriarchy", does unjustly curtail women's freedoms and human rights, though that's better understood as springing from a perpetually warring desert culture's "round up the wagons" mindset and aim of overprotection of women, rather than as evidence of some innate universal male misogyny.
In the west, there are no institutionalized systems that favor men: all of them greatly and unjustly over-favor women. And now trans-women.
What do you think of the BLM movement?
A thoroughly corrupt and enormously destructive money-making scam.
In your opinion, does structural/systemic racism exist? Why or why not?
I think there has historically been undeniable institutional bias against black people. I also think all human beings, black and white and everyone else, have in-group biases that cause them to distrust and fear those who they consider outsiders: who look, dress, think or believe differently to themselves. What in recent times we've come to, often inaccurately, label "racIST" behaviour is more helpfully seen as just an outcrop of our innate tribalism, which is both fortunately and unfortunately evolutionarily hardwired into us all, so I think on the large scale it's unproductive to approach such behaviour as simply a moral failing, labelling people "bad" or "good" and leaving it at that.
I really like it when I see black and white people getting along and genuinely liking each other, rather than just uncomfortably walking on eggshells trying to not upset the other, but I think that's something that either just happens or doesn't: it can't and shouldn't be engineered, mandated or forced in any way.
While prejudice against black people still undoubtably exists on an individual level, it has been completely and exhaustively stripped from all western institutions, and black people are now hugely over-represented in most areas of society, which, again, cannot help but lead to resentment in the rest of the populations of western countries, who are now being openly and gleefully discriminated against every day. This is so stupid, and needlessly provocative, and could have been avoided by just sticking with equal rights and opportunities for all citizens and not going further, but the simple fact is all the identity politics movements are incapable of stopping once they have realized their original goals. It's inevitable they overreach and become a negative force themselves. They never fail to behave this way.
What political ideology do you align with most? (I’d guess conservative or maybe even libertarian lite)
Genuinely none. As with religion, I think there are understandable reasons for all of the major ones to exist and speak to people, all representing genuine and necessary human concerns from many different and valid positions. I find things that speak to me in Socialism, Anarchism, Progressivism, Libertarianism, Conservatism, Nationalism, Liberalism and whatever else. But I don't feel any of them actually represent me in any way, except on a few narrow, specific, isolated issues, so I consider voting little more than weighing up and selecting the lesser of many evils, and don't find myself actively aligning with or enthusiastically supporting any of them.
And to end, one last random one: do you think that the extravert ideal is highly favored in the US/western countries? What do you think about the extravert ideal?
I'm not sure if you've just misspelled "extrovert" or if you're specifically referring to the Jungian use of the term of "seeking fulfilment outside of the self". I guess it must be the latter.
Yes, I do think the western world, originally starting with, and spreading from, America, has become a hungry mouth that can never be filled or sated, and that consumerism is a hollow pipedream, destructive and corrosive in every part of human life. So many people today will unabashedly do anything for money, which they singlemindedly pursue simply to spend on things, which they falsely assume will bring them happiness. I've got family members whose entire daily lives seem to revolve around buying the next new thing: another toy, another holiday, another trip to another expensive restaurant - and they don't seem capable of stopping and enjoying or finding deep meaning or fulfillment in any of them.
True happiness is found only in the selflessness of love, in family, community, the pursuit of wisdom, truth and meaning, and helping others. Your funko pops collection will go in a landfill site when you die.

what is it between madeline and alec that is so different aside fro trauma with her husband, or that he is gay and married a warlock that makes such a difference in the support they get from council and thier own people that madeline gets amazing support contrary to the whole of alec's career ( i am saying support in a whole view ) in regards to thier political ways
This is a very good question.
I think, to put it simply, it really is about bigotry. When we read tsc we often only read it from the perspective of the heroes. Even when we read about the bigoted shit people say (like Zara or Tatiana) we only see the insults they make and cruel things they do, but we never really see the thinking behind it. We don't see why they act and do and say the things they do.
This is why writing perspectives of characters like Kyle and Victoria was so interesting for me.
Because I think majority of the shadowhunters (at least in Alec and Rafael's generation) are very much bigoted. You don't see that much in the new people. They either ignorant or angry or stupid, but not bigoted per se (like with gen z - some of the things they say are dumb but their heart is in the right place).
So, yes. I do think the reason why Alec didn't get as much as support he did from the Council is because he is gay + married to a warlock. It's nothing aside that. It's that.
I've seen so many politicians irl who are so good (in terms of their values and strategies) but get sidelines simply because they are a minority in some way.
There is a scene in one of the tsc books (I think it's in gotsm) where you see some downworlders refer to Alec as "our consul" even though he is Consul of the Clave, not the shadow world. You see downworlders celebrating Alec's appointment as Consul.
But you don't see that among nephilim (apart from his friends and supporters). That shows the bigotry right there.
I think it's very important to remember that in TDA many people followed Alec out of Idris not because they supported Alec but because they didn't want to support Zara (like voting for Biden because you didn't want to vote for Trump).
I personally think the same applies, a little bit, to Rafael because of the Lightwood-Bane name. It's a little different now (with Rafe's generation) because you don't see much bigotry towards Achilles, even though he is trans. But you saw it a lot when both Rafe and the rest of the lbaf gang was younger - where they went through so much shit because of the Clave, no one else.
What I'm looking forward to exploring in LBAF 6 and 7 is exactly this generational change. Because we know it's been coming slowly. Whether it was Valentine's circle (misguided - but still a revolution that stood up to the government, then to Alec's generation where people stood up for their sexuality and freedom, Emma's generation where they stood up for the seelies, etc.
You see little by little people changing slowly where each generation is a little more progressive than the former. If Alec had existed in two generations after Lance's, someone like him wouldn't have had much resistance from the Clave/Council.
PS - This does not mean growth is linear. Remember how good things were with Charlotte Fairchild and then we ended up with the Circle, so, yeah things can go to shit too.

The Duffers trying to peddle the whole found family, outcasts band together arc is so fucking funny to me because:
Nancy was never an outcast, they just gave her that shitty 'preppy popular girl gets moral angst so becomes a badass gun wielding apocalyptic grunge princess overnight' arc and then literally never showed her at school again so even if she did become an outcast, you actually never see it. In fact, we see multiple times beyond that that she's still very much considered the polite, proper, middle-upper class small town girl by any of her peers who aren't The Gang.
Barb. Chubby shy girl always in the preppy princess' shadow as the holy voice of reason, invited along as nothing but the moral support so Nancy can get laid. Dead. Dead and forgotten by literally everyone except her parents and used as a character device for Nancy (and by extension her romance with Steve.)
Steve is only technically an outcast by association. Sure, he has that fight with Tommy, but Tommy and the dude always kissing ass in Tommy's shadow are the only ones we ever see actually like. Treating Steve any differently, arcade manager dude aside (who just does not give a shit about anyone else anyway.) If the Duffers had actually properly shown Steve at school like Nancy we would've seen that while he might not have been as popular, he definitely wouldn't be sat alone in the corner. I mean come on he was in Scoops Ahoy and still getting flirted with. If you actually peeled him away from The Gang for like five minutes he'd be top of the food chain again.
The actual outcasts themselves pick and choose who is and isn't allowed in The Gang and will immediately turn on each other the moment one of them doesn't meet the standard, as we clearly saw with Lucas, who literally just got into sport and made a few friends on the team. They turn on each other constantly, weaponize their knowledge of each other as and when it suits them, and clearly have a classification of what is and isn't the 'right' kind of outcast. (coughBillyHargrovecough.) Which is exactly the behavior they resent the 'normies' for.
Apropos Billy. The Duffers literally said "its about outcasts and found family and coming together against monsters both human and not" and then also said "except for the traumatised queer-coded abuse victim. We very very clearly want you to know he is the most evil of evil out there and his sole purpose is to get beaten up and die." They decided Steve Harrington couldn't die so they made his evil gay clone. The literal only way they could think of to make Billy "bad" was to have him shout at Lucas and beat up Steve. They said "his ass is too big for him to live but we're gonna ride it for the entire PR train."
Speaking of queer-coded outcasts and dying. I know you hate Eddie Munsen, but he was basically the Queer Canary 2.0. The Duffers really said "anyone who would not be on a Home and Garden magazine cover must be shot on sight." Joe and Joseph started getting a lil too homerotic and the Duffers started loading up the gun.
And controversial but Robin. I love love love Robin but its really like the Duffers said "we have to keep one queer alive to avoid the homophobia allegations" and then after months at the drawing board they just shrugged and said "why don't we just copy-paste Steve but change the formatting to lesbian?"
And like. Its been shown that the moment all these so-called outcasts are separated, suddenly, they're not really that outcast anymore! They're all growing up, getting hobbies, making new friends, realizing that they don't have quite as much in common as they thought they did. Will and Dustin are the only two who kind of stay on the hem of that original format.
I'm not even going to talk about whatever the fuck that was with Eleven running away to some fever dream Murder Goths™ secret club. Not even the Duffers want to talk about it. It genuinely makes me think of the Twilight baseball scene. Its like you know the vision they had in mind when they thought it up but then its like they asked AI to create it.
Stranger Things is just the Duffers' Wattpad Mary Sue Y/N fanfiction.
Don’t you DARE disrespect the twilight baseball scene like this
No one in this life could ever convince me Eddie is queer like god himself could stand before me and I will tell him he is wrong
Billy being Steve’s evil gay clone is so real tho I’ll give you that
Um it’s 2024 are we all ready to admit the party is just the nerd boy version of the plastics? Are we ready to have that conversation? I’m ready to have that conversation
